Significance:
Virupaksh ling temple is a 11th century temple in the kurtakoti village near hulkoti. Virupaksha linga is a shiva temple with shivalinga in the garbha graham, it has a old small cave just below the temple which is also a shiva linga garbha graham, the ancient temple is renovated now and some other small temples like ganesha, hanuman temples are built in the premise, nagaraj temple with 4ft high artistic naga devata statue is a special among latest temples. As devotees steps towards the temple from steps a shiva statue will appear on the top of the temple which is newly established. The entire temple is decorated with some statues like elephant and others. Datti phalaka or ancient inscription about the temple establishment can be seen in front of the temple. The lake just behind the temple will be spectacular in the rainy season.
